Three bars matter: red health, yellow energy, and stamina. Energy falls on its own, faster while you sprint with Shift or haul furniture. At zero you cannot sprint away from staff and you start losing health. Eating is the refill. Food does not replace a medkit when an employee has already chunked your health.
How to eat
- Walk over a burger, hot dog, ham, pizza, cake, pie, chicken drumstick, cheeseburger, Block Seed drink, or Bloxy Cola so it enters the hotbar.
- Press the slot's number key. Guides that assume four slots mention keys 1 through 4.
- Left-click to eat or drink.
- Do not press G unless you mean to drop it. G is how you stock the fort.
The same food stacks up to three in one slot. A practical daytime pace repeated in more than one guide is about two burgers per day. Hot dogs are the common mid-tier pickup. Bloxy Cola is the quick sip while you are already moving, and it refills less than a full meal. Cake is also the interact target for the Cake badge.
Where it comes back
Grocery racks, deli counters, the front display, bakery tables, and checkout lanes are the usual piles. Shelves restock every three days. Purple mystery machines can also pay out ham, pie, or cake, but they cost 12 tokens and are a coin flip, so do not spend your only tokens on a snack you can still see on a shelf.
Haul a reserve to the shelf fort and drop it on the pallet floor. Dropped food stays for the match if it is resting on solid furniture. Eat from that pile between waves instead of leaving the barricade at night.
Health regenerates slowly in daylight and when you are not taking hits. Night healing is bandages (20 HP, if you are on the cloth recipe) or a medkit. Red-and-white Hollow candies have been described as an emergency heal, but those candies are also a cauldron ingredient, so eat one only if you are about to go down.
