Almost every early tool starts as wood or cloth. Wood sits on shelves and drops when you smash wooden boxes. Cloth comes off sofas and other upholstered furniture, or off shelf piles. Metal sheets spawn on the same kind of displays and drop when those sheets break. A hatchet, once you have one, speeds the breaking.
Open the crafting menu with Tab. These costs are the ones repeated across the crafting notes:
| Item | Cost | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Hatchet | 3 wood | Breaks boxes, sofas, and props faster |
| Basic backpack | 3 cloth | Extra carrying space. See the slot note below |
| Crafting Table Tier One | 5 wood and 3 cloth | Unlocks the station recipes |
| Spike barrier | 4 wood and 1 cloth | A placed choke that damages and slows staff |
| Medkit | 4 bricks | Made at the Tier One table |
| Bandage | Disputed | See the healing section |
Place the table inside the fort or a closed office, not in an open aisle. Staff can break structures if they get in. Keep a path back to the sleeping furniture so a failed wall is not a dead end.
Recipes named without a cost
Tier 0 notes also name a Pointy Mop, and Tier 1 notes name a bear trap, Scrappy SMG, Scrappy Shotgun, SodaGun, and crafted ammo. No material counts were published for those, so they are not in the table above. Do not assume they share the spike barrier's wood cost.
Bandage recipes disagree
One item note says a bandage costs 2 cloth and restores 20 HP, and that it can also revive a downed teammate. The revive notes say you combine red banknotes in the Tab menu to craft a bandage, with no cloth cost given. Both may be real alternate recipes, or one of them may be outdated. If Tab shows a red-cash bandage and a cloth bandage, use whichever materials you actually have. If only one recipe appears, trust the menu in the current match.
Backpack capacity disagrees too
The backpack page says a 3-cloth backpack adds ten storage spaces on top of a five-slot hotbar, and that you deposit into it while holding the backpack. Other pages say the default hotbar is four slots. Count your own bar. The 95 Robux +3 Item Slots pass is a separate, permanent add of three slots and is not the same object as the crafted backpack.
Use the wood calculator on this site when you only need a wood total. It does not subtract cloth, bricks, or cash.
